Transportation. Sunrise Lake Memorial
Garden has excellent access to transportation. It is only a half mile from the
new exit 136 on I-95. Exit 136 is located 45 miles from Washington D.C. and
45 miles from Richmond, Virginia.
The new Stafford County
regional airport is about two miles
north of Sunrise.
The Fredericksburg railroad station is about 6
miles from Sunrise. This rail station is a regular Amtrak stop and the last
stop for the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), the commuter railroad that connects
Fredericksburg with Union Station, Washington D.C.
Growth and Affluence. With I-95 and its
commuter rail connection, Fredericksburg has become a bedroom suburb of
Washington, D.C., experiencing enormous growth that has made Stafford
County, Virginia the 9th fastest growing county in the U.S. It is part of
the Northern Virginia area which has the second highest discretionary income
of any area in the United States. For example, it has been reported that the
Wal-Mart near Fredericksburg exit from I-95 did more business than any
